Languages
Fostering competence in language and literacy is an essential tool for achieving Grade-level objectives and ultimately leads to student success, as all subjects have a language component.
We, at Capstone High, strive to integrate 21st-century skills with language development in our classrooms through our three-language policy. It is essential to encourage full respect for the use of the vernacular in teaching and learning to promote linguistic diversity. Inclusive language education policies not only lead to higher learning achievements but also contribute to tolerance, social cohesion, and peace.
English
English is the medium of communication in school.
Not just literacy and writing skills, through our English curriculum we build the next generation of responsible global citizens. We use opportunities to make our lessons more oriented towards social and community issues.
Children are motivated to read texts and discuss their learning in a forum that leads them to think critically about issues or problems in the story and to analyse it from many viewpoints and perspectives in the class with an open mind. It helps them become critical thinkers, which is one of the most valuable skills that our students will need in the future.
Hindi
Teaching Hindi as a second language is crucial from the point of view of developing Hindi as a link language for India as an official language. Students are encouraged to express their thoughts and ideas around everyday situations through various
Art forms (including story-telling, creative writing, theatre, music, dance, and visual art) to make Hindi learning interesting and engaging. This enhances their comprehension skills, language competencies, and ability to participate in everyday communication.
Activities done in class help achieve the following purposes:
- Developing focus and clarity of thought.
- Developing vocabulary.
- Ability to communicate in the language.

Mathematics
The Mathematics curriculum at the primary level aims to ensure that children build a strong foundation by connecting and applying mathematical concepts in a variety of engaging ways and situations.
It also addresses the complex individual needs of every child to acquire
- Number sense.
- Develop a sense of space and spatial thinking.
- Realise the need for and understanding of standard units of measurement.
- Investigate data through first-hand observations.
- Apply mathematical concepts to provide day-to-day solutions.
Applying mathematical themes (numbers, shapes, problem-solving patterns, and systematic reasoning) in daily life for various purposes, including problem-solving, demonstrates an understanding of these concepts. We view mathematics as a practical tool as well as a discipline that fosters reasoning and analytical abilities. Students are encouraged to establish a connection between daily life contexts and mathematical thinking.
Science
With global technological advancements, children need to be scientifically literate to succeed. Students are encouraged to develop their abilities to ask questions, gather information, organise and test their ideas, solve problems, and apply what they learn to provide situational solutions to better understand the concept.
In Capstone High, teachers facilitate and inspire students to maximise the potential of their formal and informal learning experiences through observation, research, communication, and conclusion.
Science activities allow children to develop and practise a variety of skills and attributes. These include communication skills, collaborative skills, teamwork, creative thinking skills, critical thinking skills, and perseverance, as well as analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
Social Studies
Social studies, at the primary level, helps students understand the interrelationships of the world they live in and the complexities of the human experience in their physical and social environment. It assists students in understanding and appreciating real-world issues and developing critical thinking skills.
At Capstone High, we use a variety of engaging and enriching teaching strategies to help students develop a deep conceptual understanding and encourage them to develop higher-order thinking skills. Some of the strategies used are:
Graphic organizers: a helpful learning tool for students to organise, clarify, or simplify complex information—they help students construct understanding through an exploration of the relationships between and across concepts. For Collaborative learning, students are divided into smaller groups of two or more learners who work together to solve problems, complete tasks, or learn new concepts.
In a flipped classroom, instead of the teacher introducing a new concept and assigning projects, students are encouraged to research and share their knowledge with their classmates.
Visual learning helps students retain information more effectively than any other method. We use images, videos, charts, maps, documentaries, diagrams, etc. for teaching students in the classroom.
Art
Art integration is an approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstratean understanding of different subjects through an expressive Art form. Students engage in a creative process that connects an art form with another subject area and meets evolving objectives in both.
